Ministry & Evangelization
The NEW LIFE IN CHRIST MINISTRIES was birthed in April of 1986 and has since grown to include some 25 churches and missions and a Bible Institute for the training of pastors and leaders. The ministry’s vision is that which Jesus shared from the Cross for the impoverished, the sinner and those seeking love, consolation and forgiveness... a ministry that began twenty years ago in the hearts of John & Lucia and now has extended throughout the states of Michoacàn and Guerrero.

IT ALL BEGAN ON AN APRIL MORNING IN 1986. The words, “you must be born again” burned within John as he read the passage from John 3. For eight years, John and Lucia had worked religiously in His name but never knew Him personally. Now the hour had come. Embracing in their kitchen, they prayed and gave themselves to Jesus and received Him in their hearts. It was the turning point in their ministry.

THEN ONE SUNDAY MORNING AT CLINIC , the sick were invited to listen to the Word and the new-found joys of John and Lucia. Over the years, more than six thousand patients have come to receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Their vision and hunger for souls began to evolve. In June of 1990, their first evangelistic crusade was held in Ario de Rosales... thereafter, their ministry spread to the villages and towns throughout Central Michoacán. Churches and missions have been established. Initially, John travelled long hours, sometimes preaching 5 times a day along with attending the sick. There were times when he preached up to 17 times a week. His prayers were for pastors. They would have to be raised up... and then they began to come one by one. Today, there are 19 men and women who share the growing responsibilities of the ministry. John is now a pastor of pastors dedicated to providing direction and promoting harmony with his ministerial team. The pastoral vision includes the republic of Mexico and, in time, the sending of evangelists and missionaries to foreign soils. The mission is to fulfil the “Great Commission”.
